Can't remember what thread it was mentioned in....

I noticed this and wondered if it might be just what people are looking for?

It's sort of suitable...only thing is it works the wrong way round as in goes closed when brake pressed but needs to go open, a relay could be used to sort that however...also a m10 metric thread would be better as that's what vw stuff uses, motor cycles have really small pressure switches for the brake lights that are suitable as well but again the switch works the wrong way round.

Vw oil pressure switch would be suited to the task assuming it can take the max pressure generated as on most 2 switch engines one is open and one closed at standstill

i was wondering about that so i put a continuity meter on the clutch switch from the loom of my AHU and when the switch is pressed ( i.e clutch pedal not engaged) there is no signal, and when the switch is released (pedal pressed) there is a signal/connection, which i think would work the same way as the pressure switch i.e connection when the clutch is engaged.
it is quite possible i am missing something of course.

my AHU is off a 98 golf and the clutch switch works the same as brake light switch as in it wants to spring open but is held closed by the pedal in its rest position. when the pedal is pressed and the switch springs out, a connection is made.

But you don't want a connection when the clutch is pressed...you want it when it's up so its no good using a brake pressure operates switch, that's the point I made just there.

ah, my clutch switch connects when the pedal is pressed the same as the brake line pressure switch.
but i have yet to fit it all and get it working so as i said, i could very well be missing some vital piece of information here.
