Looking to buy Chrome Bumpers for T25 and seen on Just Kampers but interested to know if anyone has bought these for some feedback and are then any other suppliers Cheers

I can confirm what Mickey says, I bought some from VW heritage without noticing the disclaimer on the websit about not guaranteeing the chrome & within 6 months one of them had started to become pitted just from condensation in the garage over winter, they had never been outside in the rain. Apparently they are not too bad though if you can build up a good coat of wax on them (rim-wax or some such product). Ain't hindsight great.

Hmm, we used to get loads of plating done on historic and vintage vehicles, and there used to be as many folk reckoning to be platers as there are now purporting to be bodyshops but
you need a company that will take the time to polish correctly then copper,and then nickle, this is costly and the depth and grade of nickle gives a lot of the colour to the finnished product then after polishing this (heres where good polishers come in) they mustnt go through the nickle else it go back a stage and replate etc, then final chromium plate, this also needs polishing and inspected through a diffused light source, the whole process is very labour intensive hence £££, that said it will last for years, a lot of the cheapo (but not in £££ terms) hubcaps and the like are just flash plated, often the product is reasonable so get it plated correctly

Just out of curiosity (as I ain't going to do it) but I wonder how much it would cost to get a set of standard steel bumpers cleaned, prepared and properly chrome plated ? (compared to buying the usual JK tat).

I enquired. Was around the £160-£180 mark - for one. Some places more, some less but for a quality job expect that kind of price John.

makes the big bumpers seem cheap compared to the price of rechroming

Ah but dont loose sight of the fact that you are not rechroming,,,, you are removing the flash coat that was applied and replacing with traditional chrome plating
stuff like mk2 jags would cost about 1500 to be plated, some of the vehicles i had done i still know and after over 20 years are still in fine order, you get what you pay for as in most things
