Hi can anyone help please? The insulation and plastic are loose in places on my engine lid. This seems like a bit of a fire hazard to me. Does anyone know how best to repair this or what to replace it with. I have searched wiki but cant find any reference to this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :?

Maybe a bit of a stupid question anyway. I find myself being full of those at the moment lol . Have opted for some aluminium tape to reseal/repair damaged bits and hope for a smoke free home (well engine bay anyway) :D

There is usually a stiff piece of thick wire bent in an arc in the middle of the insulation to hold it in place, maybe its missing or maybe its just slipped
