I reckon its a Ford Duratec, the engine that fits into the Mondeo, Maverick, Galaxy.
The 2.5 is a little limp at just under 170bhp but the 3.0 has upto 220bhp in standard form.
(not that i'm a ford man you understand!)
I had a Citroen Xantia V6 and that engine would be lovely in a T25.

I think if i was going to go diesel i'd stick with standard VW. Saves all the messing around. The 1.9TDi has to be the way forward but for the cost of a good lump you might as well have an engine fitted at Elite engines and LPG it.
I'm not exactly a Renault fan but the french are pretty good at building strong diesel engines, well Citroen and Peugeot are.

i run a peugeot 1.9 td on my auto caravelle and a 2.1 peugeot td in my panel van camper.
you just can get it wrong, engine and adapter less than 350 quid and super reliable. bear in mind you sell your good running 'old' engine for 250-300 its not such a bad deal.

I run a Citroen BX Turbo Diesel as my daily driver with the 1.7 XUD engine.
The 1.9 or 1.7 Citroen/Peugoet turbo diesel engines are great little lumps. They are ultra strong and reliable, possibly more so than the VW lumps providing the cooling system is 100%.
The 2.1 is essentially an XUD with a 12 valve head on which i reckon would be fantastic in a T25.
Where are the adapters available from?

So tell me, while were on the subject of engines, does a 12 valve 4 cylinder engine have 2 exhausts and one intake valve per cylinder or 2 intakes and one exhaust?
Sorry chad, heres your thread back...

i bloke in yorkshire gets them machined.about 230 deliverd i think. which when you can get a complete pug car for less than a 100 makes a cheap engine purchase, compared to buying a good 1.9 td vw!
2 INLET VALVES 1 EXHAUST, AS THE WASTE GASSES ARE EASILY PUSHED OUT,BUT YOU NEED TO GET AS MUCH IN AS POSSIBLE (putting it in basic terms)
