How hot should the heater blow?

1988 1.9 DG. I know its been cold this week so the heater has had to do a bit of work but seems to be struggling to get the temperature in the van up.
This is when the van is at operating temp. Maybe i should insulate the hot water to the matrix pipe..as i,m sure it looses quite a bit of heat on iys way to the cab... I know its a fair few cubic meters of air to warm up and all that glass doesnt help.
No 1 on the fan the heat seems to feel reasonable but on no 2 is pretty feeble.
What do you think dudes???

The heater works ok in the coldest of weather---where does your temp gauge read--should be just to the right of warning light--if its low-replace thermostat--otherwise your heater could be airlocked--

heater should burn your feet on full! :D
Anything else=problem.
Blocked heater matrix?, or airlock, the latter is easier to fix.
Or has some bod taken the stat out?

could be that the valve isnt opening fully, drop the spare wheel and have a look, also have a look at the cableing behind the switching cover

if it have been bled with the blower swicted to cold then there could be air in the heater

Good question Bob...how do you get rid of an airlock in the matrix...maybe revving its a*** off when bleeding maybe?????????
With the matrix being the highest point doesnt it mean a lot of the air will end up here?????
