I want to refurb my Westy gas tank. At present it's got about £9 of LPG in it as I put some in last year. The question is, can I use it connected to my domestic barbecue using the adaptor I bought from Brick Werks? Hope this makes sense.

As he said ^^^^^^ but as Westy regulators are set at a higher pressure of 50Mbar compared to 29Mbar or 37Mbar (Calor gas/Propane) in theory the flame might be a little bigger with the higher pressure in practice I've not noticed the difference myself but it's worth knowing.

I have a couple of questions about the auxillary gas outlet on our Westfalia California. I tried to search but the function returns nothing to the word "gas." Can't be working properly! Or is it me?

Anyway

Keen to get a barbecue fired up from the underslung gas tank. Is it really not a problem to use a GB barbie rated to receive gas at 37mBar plugged in to van with a 50mBar regulator? I presume the flame packs a bit more punch.

Has anyone tried the Cadac Safari Chef? Looks as though they must export to Germany and then have the burner set to receive 50mBar gas, but I don't know if I could get a German version across here. UK one appears to be set to 30-37mBar input.

Any other recommended barbecues?

Finally, I presume all I need is the adaptor which push-fits into the auxillary outlet, and some hose. Is this correct?

There are a few uses on here with Cadac's ...I've got an easy chef deluxe.
I must admit that when I first got it I was anxious to know if the higher pressure would be an issue so I connected my Cadac to both sources (an external bottle with 37Mbar regulator & directly connected to the BBQ outlet). In my honest opinion, I could not see any discernible difference in the flame intensity even though logic would say the flame should be bigger.
One explanation for this could be the length of hose I am using (5 metres) so the Cadac can be used on the opposite side of the van clear of the Fiamma awning.

Anyway...I've been using it connected to the take off for over 3 years, I've cooked dozens and dozens of breakfasts/stir fry's and main meals without any problems.
Andy 'Bobdogs' has a similar Cadac and is using it the same way...again, no problems.
