Fridge, Tap, Control Panel not working

Hi

The igniter for the fridge stopped working and as the buttons were stiff I sprayed some WD40 in. This made no difference so I hooked up the charger to the battery to give it full juice. The igniter still didn't work. I then noticed that neither did the control panel or the tap.

My leisure battery is a complete mess of wires/cables and relays but I think I have found two relays that feed the thicker cable that I think goes to the fridge, tap etc.

Shall I try replacing these? Are there some fuses I should look at? Am I missing something??????????????????

Any thoughts on how much a complete internal rewire might cost?

OK.

So I've just taken a piece of cable straight from the live terminal on the battery to a connection block that has the live feed to the tap. Doing this all three things work. Is it safe to simply leave this connected? Does it need an inline fuse (if so what size)?

Camping this weekend at Deva so even if this would work as a temporary fix that would be great.

It sounds like a blown or corroded fuse. My westie has a small black fuse box down low just inside of the left front door on the right hand bulkhead. The standard fuses were aluminium which corrode and that stops juice getting through. I replaced the fuses with copper ones, cleaned the contacts and the juice flowed again. Problem solved. Check it out. In the meantime clean the aluminium fuse ends with a bit of fine sandpaper and that should work in the short term.
:ok

What he said ^^^^^ the small black fuse box on the drivers seat belt pillar uses bullet fuses which tend to become corroded/loose with age. You can bend the terminals to 're-tension' them but a new 'blade' fuse holder maybe a better option in the long term.

Thanks for the suggestions.

There was a blown 20amp fuse which I have now replaced. When I removed my direct wire this made no difference. When I turned the ignition this new fuse blew...?? Guessing that this is not the same fault?

Also now noticed that the two "mains" sockets don't work when on hookup.

Any other thoughts? Do you think my "fix" to at least get the fridge to light and the tap to work is ok in the medium term?

Cheers
