Golf 4 button steering wheel...

OK Guys,

I have a very nice Golf GTI four dot wheel fitted to my bus...My problem
is that the indicators won't self cancel so I end up driving around the town
like a biff with no-one knowing which way I'm going...

Does anyone have a fix for this? The original ring from the OEM wheel
doesn't fit on the Golf wheel, is there any ingenious way of extending the
paddle on the Golf wheel...? Can I bend the tang on the self canceller...?

Any help will be gratefully received, all the best... Mark.

Ok, problem solved...
Found the post describing the fix using motherboard stand-off posts to pull the stalk plate forward...
Now that is some clever shizzle...

Or just notice the little flashing green light/ticky noise, and flick the lever t'other way?

I hate self-cancelling indicators. Never cancel when I want to - either too eager or too slow. It's not unknown for me to remove the little tang and throw it away...

Now I did think that that would work but the wheel rim obscures the green lights quite convincingly and the diesel lump in the back end hides the feeble tick tick sound of the indicators cycling... Getting the self-cancelling function back gives me the best chance of not further confusing the already terminally confused road users that frequent my town...
