JX altanator belt tension

Am i correct. When i check the belt tension it should be 5 to 10mm between the alt and the water pump and NOT between the alt and the crank pully.
Mine has 2 belts, crank drives the water pump, water pump drives the alternator.
Deflection measured at longest run.
According to Bentley:
Belts up to 1000mm:
2mm max deflection witn new belt
5mm max deflection with run belt
Belts Over 1000mm:
10mm max deflection with new belt
15mm max deflection with new belt
The JX ones are around the 600mm mark.
If anyone has more experience on this please chip in.
