That means they're rated as being safe to three ton EACH. Your van is 2.5t maximum loaded weight. You could safely balance it on just one stand.

<thinks>
If you do, can we see a pic, please?

My stands are 6 ton ones - does that mean that I can put two vans on one stand then? :lol:

surely your van does not have an axle :lol:
I use wooden blocks, feels safer to me.

FYI - I was looking at axle stands today online and found some sold as a pair that were advertised as '3 tonne axle stands' but reading the detailed description it turned out that they were 1.5 tonnes each (i.e. 3 tonnes for the pair).
Still probably OK but it's worth reading the small print just to make sure!!

An example of what I'm talking about (there were other websites doing the same thing) ..... Bit cheeky really !!!

be aware some of the 3 tonne ones (ie the 1.5 tonne each) are very short and not much use on a van, ditto the old 1 tonne ones with pins through the tube
for a syncro the clarke or similar 6 tonne ones are better as they go nice and high and can also be used very effectively on a 2wd bus
