hi all,

i keep leaving m,y lights switched on when i walk away. i don't want to get into fitting buzzers etc, how about this for an idea?

i buy one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200922497397? ... 1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i fit it on the dash between power source and the original light switch

that means i have to have the illuminated switch lit before i can turn on the light switch.

not the best, but workable?

Well I presume you do remove the key when you exit vehicle? Just replace the bulbs that can get left on (sidelights, tailights) with LED equivalents. You could leave your lights on all night then and it wouldn't matter, plus if you DO break down on some country lane in the middle of nowhere and have to squelch your way across a field in the dark in search of the haunted farm house (cue cheesy 70s Hammer Horror music), you can be sure your vehicle is well lit as you get attacked by the Gorgon. :D

the problem i have, is that the lights stay on full dipped when i take the key out and walk away.

last year it took 5 minutes to drain the battery!

just checked the wiki again, i can get a buzzer at maplin for a couple of quid, going to wire one in i think. i need to clean the door sensors anyway, they are a bit hit an miss with the interior light.
