After changing the fuel filter I noticed the pipes around it had a lot of cracks so I replaced them before they started to weap

but couldnt get it started there was no fuel getting to the pump so I checked the fuel lines an couldnt find any more cracks so I tryed priming the carb still on joy then I tryed sucking on the pipe (I know bad idea but was getting desperate)an there was no resistance an no fuel but there was a hissing noise coming from a rubber grommet that the fuel line ran through the bulkhead ? after pulling the pipe out a little I spotted a big hole

Now the van ran fine till I drained the fuel system to replace the pipes but im guessing it couldnt make the vacuume to pull the fuel up ,anyway I've now changed all the rubber pipes to be on the safe side

I've had the same. Replaced fuel lines and filter, and now I've cranked till the battery died. I'd assumed it would done time to pump through. I've now added additional jubilee clips to ensure vacuum, but have to wait for recharge. I read on another forum about filling the filter before fitting??

How did you get on?

Once i replaced the pipes it took some turning over but started in the end ,the engine does have to turn over quickly though so i might be ok with a full charge . Did you change all the fuel lines ?

Just the rubbers. Ones from fuel tank had warning in MOT, so replaced with new filter. And we had a second filter in the engine compartment so I replaced all that from the plastic pipe to the pump. I think I had a leak there. I was using those spring clips. Now backed up with jubilees.

And now it's raining. Isn't the tailgate handy

Phew. Battery recharged. I even primed the fuel pump with a little using a syringe. Turned over about 20 times and....
Vroom vroom. Back in business.

Now oil, filter and spark plug change.
