Starting to build my tool collection up as I do my 1Y conversion.
I am in need of a torque wrench as the twenty quid jobby from screwfix fell apart the other day.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally I'd like one which can handle torques from 10nm to 100nm ish. For larger figures i'll probably get another cheapo screwfix one.
My socket set is currently ½ inch but not adverse to getting a 3/8 set as well if that is what the torque wrench is.
Anyone got any suggestions? Advice? Warnings?
Quite like the look of the halfords professional ones but am open to alternatives.
Looking to buy new so that it has warranty.

I've got the Halfords professional ones, they come with a lifetime guarantee.
Sometimes they have them in the sale for half price. That's when I bought mine.
I'm often wary of a 'lifetime' warranty, however I've broken a couple of bits and pieces and they exchange them without question.

As bulldog says the Halfords ones are very good, normally replaced straight away, if they even break. As far as I know they are made by Norbar, and they make brilliant torque wrenches, I'm a professional mechanic and I got a Norbar wrench just after I qualified (some 20 years ago) I still have it and it still works perfectly

Norbar torques: Brilliant. I have one from the dark ages and it is still brilliant. Well over the age of some of our members

Yes they are and a bonus made in England I've had one for 40 years and always passes it's calibration test.

Norbar (some of Halfords are Norbar) or Britool, Dont get a digital one (Snap-on etc) . Ive spent years repairing and calibrating torque wrenches, so I know which ones pass and which ones fail. Out of all those mentioned i'd personally go for Norbar due to good build quality and good spares / backup.
