front window rubber (top section)

hi i have an 81 Aircooled with chrome window surrounds (not standard doors)
and want to put new window rubbers on but was wondering if i can put standard window rubber and not the chrome one on the top section of the sliding windows
and do away with the chrome?

trying to make sense of that, sliding window? so this is on the fridge side or sliding door?
what has cab doors go to do with it,

sorry mate bit confusing
its the front cab doors up and down windows
top rubber has perished and i need to replace them both but mine has chrome inserts and want to know if they can be replaced with just the rubber ones

ah yes, you can fit the plain ones but then you have to remove the chrome trim from the reast of the window, i may just have a pair of good s/hand ones for the chrome style .let me have a look and back in 5

one side i have is good, the other is just ,just lol starting to go on the lower vertical where it joins the J scraper usuall place,
pm if they may be of use
