T25 suspension replacement???

I'm looking to change my suspension as mine is not good at the mo, bottoming out and wallowing around!!! At present i have an AVO 60mm lowered brickwerks kit on it fitted around 2006, been reading around and think it might be time to change the lot, i'm thinking of going back to standard height and running bilstein b6 shocks, but find that spring wise my choices are between standard and heavy duty through a few internet sale sites, have seen a few sets on ebay but am thinking do i really want to put 20-30 year old springs back on? Weight wise the van has a camping interior, namely westfalia r&r bed, rear side wardrobe, full kitchen unit(fridge, hob and sink) it's a tintop so no other weight up there and just the two of us and a dog when we travel. So my question is do i need HD springs or would standard from the likes of justkampers do for me? Or any other ideas on my options? Any advice much appreciated on what people are running out there..

I've got twenty five year old springs on mine and they're ok.
They were made by VW :ok

buy used, as long as there's no damage or the pigtails are missing they are fine.
fit standard bilsteins

then you'll have a standard ride :ok

When you say fit standard bilsteins are they different from the b6 varient? if so do you know the code for them, also that the pigtails that i need to check are on the rear springs only? as the front are square end springs?

I did look at brickwerks site and he doesn't seem to be advertising any shocks or springs for sale! Does he only do supply and fit do you know?

AH now i get it, i went to the suspension/springs page seen the no products message and thought nowt here, i now see what happens when i hover over the two choices, duh   I'll probably have to eat humble pie again if he emails me back after saying i couldn't find anything for sale on his web site!!!!! Think i may be leaning towards the 30mm Avo (carat/multivan) springs and the bilstein b4 dampers now i've had a look around there, just have to see if he reckons that they'll work together.

You will find the AVO springs you have on now are sh4gged and that's why they bottom out, Simon put a lot of time and effort in with AVO a few years ago and they are far better now.

My advice would be go maybe -30mm and some Bilsteins with a full on camper, I have had the new -50mm on for around 3yrs now and they have been fine albeit a bit 'firm'.

Thanks shepster, just wondering what weight wise your carrying in the van (camping interior etc?) and if your running the bilsteins too (which he says on the site feel firmer than the sachs) along with the -50mm springs?

Mine's a full on camper with poptop and LPG so there's a fair bit of weight in it, another lad has similar, Dazwatson, which Is also on same springs/shocks.

I've gone down your route myself in the past......

JK -60mm......Front too low and eventually sagged and kept bottoming out.
JK-45mm.......Just on the front to level ok for a while.
AVO old -60mm again ok for a while.
AVO NEW -30mm and Bilsteins, great kit but after being so low felt like a Syncro! Lovely ride and top quality springs.
AVO NEW -50mm as above but a bit lower and firmer........happy now!
Still have the -30's for when It's time to get my pipe and slippers out!

Hope this helps.

I think he wants to know what type of bilstein shocks you're using.

Thanks for the offer on the springs pionte but after the info i've got on here and a couple of very informative emails back from brickwerks i'm gona go with the pipe and slippers option of -30mm Avo's and Bilstein B4 shocks, no doubt i too will find it a bit higher after having the old Avo -60mm springs on, especially if they had sagged too (probably made it a -75mm drop) as seems likely after reading around. Just got to fit them all now. Thanks for all the advice..
