EJ25 over run.

Hi All.
I've got a SOHC 2.5 N/A engine in my T3. Its all running sweet except an really annoying over-run.
Driving along normally, coming to a stop, knock out of 2nd into neutral & revs will stay up around 1500rpm for about 4/5 seconds before dropping down to nearer 700rpm. I'd like/want them to drop immediately if possible.
Van went for MOT today. Passed with flying colours, one adversary for small windscreen-chip. Marvellous!!
While I was there, got the garage guys to but their code-fault-reader on it....... No Fault codes, No historic fault codes! Even more marvellous!!
While they were connected up, had them look at Throttle/neutral setting...... Apparently it was set to 'On'.
Is this causing the over-run? How do I fix/change it?
Cheers my engine Yoda's!!

:ok

Hi Karl, did you check your neutral position switch signal to the ECU as I suggested ?

Hi Andy, Bear with me, had a couple of beers & bit of a light weight these days!!
Is that not this....... "While they were connected up, had them look at Throttle/neutral setting...... Apparently it was set to 'On'."

Sorry if I'm mistaken & that's not what you meant.

Okay had alook at ecu.
Looked at orange connector, couldn't tell which was pin 26, couldn't see any numbers.
Only one black/green wire I could see though. It was connected to a bigger black cable and this ran all the way to the back of the speedo. Speed pick-up?
I tried disconnecting it anyway, couldn't detect any difference in start up but I wasn't driving it. SORN'd
T3 speedo/cable isn't in the best condition, sometimes sticks at 10mph & bounces a lot at lower speeds, could this cause an issue?
Wrote down ecu number, but now can't find bit of paper, will go double check!

Ok ECU number is.......

W7
22611 AG100
A18 000 DIY.

Drove up & down road with green/black wire to speedo disconnected. Again hard to tell with such short journeys but revs did seem to drop quicker.

Is this a a oil pressure sender? What would I need to connect it to a gauge?

you need to find out what make model it is and find a compatible gauge and wire it up - if it's a vdo then the id will be stamped on to it , bunch of numbers which if put into google will get you the spec, plenty of cheap gauges on ebay - check with axeman if he's got any left from the group buy, they are VDO 5 bar ones, if you have a 5 bar sender job's a good'un

The grey plug is for the ecu temp sender, the little brass one is for temp gauge. This much I can recall, before I turn my back on the ba$t4rd Subaru wiring loom and ecu forever!
