Hi all- quick question

I'm looking for a replacement carb and have been offered a Pierburg from a manual 1989 1.9 DG. Will this fit my automatic?

thanks

According to Haynes the later Auto may have the 2E4 Carb with throttle valve position electrickery to maintain idle under load, have a look at your carb and see if it looks like this which is a standard 2E3 that you have been offered. Better still get a pic up of your carb.

I Have a 1989 AUTO 1.9DG and it has a 2E3 but it seems to be rare as most I know of have the 2E4 with idle control (an extra black box next to the ignition amp). When I looked into this my camper was registered as a 5 speed manual so someone must have had the gearbox changed very early on. I suppose there is no reason why you couldn't run a 2E3 and ignore the idle control? Mine seems to work ok.
