Hi there.

I am in the precess of replairing bits regarding a dodgy geabox selection.During the precedure i decided to replace the seal that goes into the gearbox at the selector rod end.

For those of you who know, this seal has a lip which fits into lips into the gearbox. On removing the old seal the lips of the old seal have broke into the lips in the gearbox - so I cant fit the new seal.

after 3 hours scratching around with a pin to remove the old debris (from a very narrow gap) I am having little joy.

Is there an easy way to remove this debris. Has anyone had this problem before and can recommend a course of action.

Thanks for your help

take off the reverse switch housing
remove the ball metal bracket from the end of the shaft and make sure it's in neutral and push the shaft into the box untill you can get a seal puller in there and remove the old seal remains
then put shaft back in and the reverse switch cover on before trying to fit the new seal
