Hi looking for a bit of info I have a 1987 holdsworth vision and the head gasket has gone caput can this be replaced without taking engine out and if not how much am I looking at to get it fixed I'm in hull eastyorkshire

I also have a Holdsworth Vision, but as your question relates to the engine rather than the rear kitchen it would be more help if you said what engine you have.

What else needs fixing at the same time?
What caused one of the head gaskets to blow in the first place?

Flat fours don't have "head gaskets" as such..
they have water jacket head seals, and steel cylinder seal rings with an "o" ring.
so does it leak coolant on the drive or does it pressurise the cooling system

leaks coolant and i can see the black rubber seal water jacket has worked loose and is split

Waterjacket seal(s) ... search this forum, been covered loads of times.

yes indeed..
they are easier with the engine out... BTW
