I have searched the Wiki and cannot find a specific topic for the easiest method for replacing the cigarette lighter.
Do i really need to remove the dash to access the lighter?
Think i might be able to reach behind the offending item if i drop the glove box.
Any thought would be appreciated.

You're right, drop the glove box out and you'll be able to get to it easily.

I replaced my 'Euro Style' Hella socket (looks like a cigarette socket but slightly smaller) for a 'useful' traditional cigarette socket..but...it needs to be a metal bodied type as your METAL dash provides the earth and then all the wiring it needs is a positive feed (which is already there). The hole will need opening out slightly with a round file..

I actually like my 'Euro Style' hella socket. My 3 way fridge fits nice and tight into that. I want to make a 'Carry-on' style joke now.

I have dropped the glove box but cannot get my hand behind to take the connector off. Will probably leave it. It does work but a bit loose in the hole. Oops there i go again!!!

Well Euro style (Hella) sockets are fine but a bit limiting unless everything else you use (Sat Nav/Laptop adapter/Tablet adapter/phone charger etc) has this style of male end.

I have another conventional socket next to it so have plenty of charging options.
