Gear shift bushes

Firstly I apologise for putting up a question without looking through wiki.
Van on ramps, rear gear shift rod in the garage cleaned and ready for new bush. The trouble is I brought a kit and it came with the knuckle which fits onto the gear box (fitted) I've replaced the middle bush next to petrol tank, that was a rubber/ plastic bellow type bush and I'm left with a hard nylon bush?.. I need another plastic type bush for the rear end by the look of it, but where does the hard nylon bush go?
I'm running out of time and that is why I've just posted without searching, I'm sorry if someone has already answered this question .........help!!

Still no idea what the solid nylon bush is for ,used the best of the two used bushes for the middle and the new one for the rear. Changed the starter motor bush whilst the rear end was in the air . Bit by bit I'm getting somewhere

Regardless of whether yours is 4 or 5 speed, read this and you'll see why that part is left over in your case

Actually the bit you're talking about is in Part 2:

Thank you for that, I'm going to research a bit more before I start my next job.

Not your fault. Its more a difference between years/systems really. I doubt you could make a judgement without a lot of prodding around beforehand.
That said, make a massive difference once that jobs done don't you think. Goes from a rattly old bus to something almost slick

Yes deffo!! Big difference , pleased I did it. My plan is to get a half decent camper my family can enjoy without reliability issues....or at least reduce the chances haha. Bit by bit plus the bonus is I'm enjoying the tinkering

The kit I brought was off eBay , but I would recommend you jack your vehicle up and take a look at the bushes because the kit I got, supplied two different bushes one of which is no use to me. I will be ordering the right bush for the centre bush, but the old one that's on isn't too bad. Then I would price up at heritage or justkampers before going through eBay . The quality from eBay might be lower than the mentioned, although the kit I brought certainly looks ok to me, time will tell.
