Annoying Squeak

Having spent the weekend at Coney sitting in Nicks squeaky Doka I was determined to sort my occasional but very loud squeak out by investigating the top wishbone bushes as the most likely candidate . I took the van for a test drive to confirm with the sound of Nicks van firmly and freshly imprinted on my ears....... No squeak at all to be heard......I relaxed ...... Squeak has returned today and no time to sort before France . Any suggestions for a temporary reprieved ? Some sort of lubrication? Squeak is only every so often at the mo and seems to be worse when cold? Can it be temperature related ?

Also when it was at its worse over the winter the van was fully loaded and I have not had anyone in it since so maybe when I test drove it to locate squeak I did not have enough weight in to matter. I had a passenger today and the squeak it back. Not noticeable on every lump and bump just every so often.

I have a spare set of VW bushes but don't really want to get into that at present. What's French for squeak ?

Okay.
You have a noise on your van.
You know the source of the noise.
You have the parts to fix the noise..

...and ...

I have gotten used to the squeak on mine. I have them on the shelf and also plan to sort them soon.
If it helps, mine have been noisy for a good few months and i haven't heard any metallic noise.

Has anyone suffered damage due to these bushes squeaking?

Old-skool motor trader once told me that tallow was the thing for creaky ARB bushes. Tallow doesn't attack the rubber, which any oil will do. If you like liquorice bushes, oil 'em

PS the SA now has a lovely front end creak going over speed bumps but dead quiet on the flat. Must be a southern problem.

Jez, you 100% sure its the upper wishbone bushes?

How old are your top ball joints?

ball joints are anything but new and the dust cover is split on the side thats squeaking but although its not as continuous as Nicks it does sound a similar squeak when it kicks off. No time to effect any reparations before france just trying to find a work around

Swap good part off another van ? Just get the wishbone c/w balljoint to cover both possibilities.

As a temporary fix try Weldtite TF2 spray with Teflon :D
