Thermostat housing - Syncro

Hi

I bought a plastic budget thermostat housing from brickwerks: http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... udget.html and asked my local mechanic to fit it. He says that the sensors from the thermostat don't fit.

Does this mean I need to buy the syncro version: http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/t ... yncro.html? I was told by someone that they were exactly the same... clearly not. Before I spend the extra will this one fit? The mechanic says there is a metal onje in place already so I guess so....

Or can I/ should I buy new sensors...?

Cheers

Fair point!

I guess the thinking was as we were replacing the 'stat might as well do both? On reflection it is probably not worth it - I guess the likelihood of it failing is pretty slim?

Cheers

I fitted a metal one to my 2 wd so it would never need changing again

Plastic or cast metal
No brainer

Hi Kev

Thanks for this - in the end the chappy took off the old one, checked it, cleaned it up and refitted it.

By the way, saw your van at Bus Types on one of my treks around the site (to tire the kiddies out!) - lush!
