Early Dg rad fan swith?

1983 DG , originally DF. early colling system with 32/34? mm pipes. I want to fit a new thermoswitch on the rad. It is on the bottom RHS as you look at the rad. I can only see one switch and it has two wires. The fan works when wires connected.Im confused, between Haynes, Brickwerks and JK there seem to be three possibly conflicting options. JK sells one suitable switch Febi comes on at 90 and off at 95 or thereabouts. Haynes appears to only show on switch for early vans. Brickwerks lists two thermoswitches for early system under petrol coolling parts; see below. Thing is I can't see another switch near top of radiator and if the fan is only single speed then surely it only needs one switch to cut in or out.....> what am I missing? thanks
Radiator fan switch to suit early T3 models with 2 fan switches.
Comes on at 95°C and goes off again at 90°C.
This is the switch closest the top of the radiator.
NB The lower switch

DF to DG easy jon. Get engine (no 1 job....) then get s/h Pierberg carb (£50-100 depending on condition....don't trust ads that say it was running previously...seek some history or knowledge of the actual carb) then you need a DG / Pierburg carb manifold. This needs to be plumbed in as a DG would be- see a collant diagram as the carb needs a supply of coolant for the manifold.

DF's only had the single speed fan with one 2 pin switch.

Are you sure your existing switch is two pin?
Going by the wiring diagrams the fans for the early diesels still seem to be two speed but are run from two separate rad switches. The later diesels like my 1983 and the petrol ones combine the two switches into one three pin switch.
Can you check your fan to see how many wires go to it? There should be three going by the diagrams.
If you do need the three pin one I have one spare you can have if you're passing by. Was new and still in box from GSF and marked 87 and 93 degrees. Only have it as I lost it when I wanted to fit so bought another.

2pin switch with two female spades going to it, yes it was DF originally. Just not sure which switch to get as Brickies seems to say there are two? I'm inclined to get the one that comes on soonest! Not sure re fan, will have to drop the spare and see.

Didn't see BigHerbs response before my last post. Just checked ETKA for you and the switch you want is the one that comes on at 95deg. Same part as the top one for the early (pre 1983) diesels with the different radiators. Haynes won't mention those as they don't cover the diesels.

So with hotter temps and traffic today the fan cut in at just the rhs of the led as per pic. Water must be leaking from a bad joint me thinks as small drop in level intermittently.
