I've got a really good leisure battery, but i want to install a swivel base, so it'll probably have to be moved. Only other place I can think to put it is in the same cupbaord as the cooker. Dangerous to have a battery near to a gas bottle or am i being too cautious?

a marginal one I would say.

gas can escape from a bottle or connection
batteries can spark

however a drop out hole will keep any gas escape from building up to a dangerous level

In other words, I would try to keep them apart but cannot see any big problems provided you have a drop out hole.

Good question cause I mounted my gas bottle beside my leisure battery today too. The thought did cross my mind but Ive nowhere else to put either so I didnt have much choice. I have a vent though.

unless you think you'll be needing regular access to the battery then it will fit under the base you'll have

not always. I removed my swivel (driver's side) as I had less than 1mm clearance on the teminals - and I've fitted a taller battery since then.

How tall is the battery Kathy? If it's about 190mm it will still fit under the swivel
