Hi,
Just bought six tires at a military sale place here in Holland. They are Continental LM 90 225-75-16. The military use them on the Mercedes G-wagon. Got an excellent deal, really happy. Does anyone have any experience with this type of tyre?
Cheers.

Damn i would have had some. Look good. If military uses them they must be ok

. Only a nice deep good bog like Coney Farm can say if they are or aren't good.

That is exactly what I was thinking, if the military are using them they must be o.k. Really sturdy tires with strong sidewalls, load index 1250 kg per tire. Downside is they are fairly heavy and rather noisy on tarmac, but I guess that's normal for a MT. I paid 300 euros for six tires.

hi Rob
have they got any more??
you know this means that now you have to take your van out in the mud and stop riding shotgun with the rest of us

Yep I guess you're right. Just don't like mud, I prefer dry conditions for offroading..no sliding down slippery slopes with locked brakes. I got the last new ones, they had about 30 used ones from bad to fairly good condition for 30 euros each.

Hi Rob ! That looks like a *great* buy, but like you say more suited for mostly offroad use, not so great for regular use on tarmac !

Actually they handle a lot better than the all terrains I had on there before. Because my van is quite heavy, with the stronger sidewall the car doesn't sag as much as before. I looked up the specs and they even have M&S markings with sipes in the profile. I leave them on for now, I can swap anytime myself since I have access to a tire machine and balancer, really handy. It is just the extra noise..

Actually i think they look good for Dry, but deep bog like we had at Coney ...mmmmm.... i dunno. I think you need to go try them in a bog and give us some feedback, cause that's a good price that is!
