I need to remove the side planks from my van.
I have no idea how they are attached anyone know how to get them off?

Look up from the lower edge, between the plank and body you'll see 10mm hex heads, undo these.

They will be very rusty.

You could have found this information using the search function.

the planks "hang" off the black plastic fixings which are riveted to the bodywork
freeing the nuts at the bottom can be tricky, especially if they are rusted tight and the bolt starts to turn.
once they are all off the bottom of the plank can swing towards you and you can lift it off the hangers.

I've replaced all the fixings with stainless steel when refitting, used a 3d printer to make some pieces to hold the top of the bolts captive and had to print a handful of replacement hangers too, that was childs play compared to getting one or two of the rusted nuts off...

If you want to you can buy new ones from Brick weeks.co.UK along with stainless plank fittings.

I used to get them from eBay.Dr but they are going for 8+ Euros each now, from brick weeks they're just over four quid.

you'll need to drill out the rivets holding the hangers on then as well... mine were off all winter... looks great now they are back on though...

yep I printed some replacement bits with a Makerbot Replicator printer using ABS plastic.... around 20p worth of plastic for each piece,

pics might give you a better look at what is hidden behind the planks...
