t25 Enging idling too high

Hello,
Im pretty much a novice at mechanics, so please excuse the wording of this as i try and explain as best as i can! I have a 2.0 1984 petrol Aircooled t25. Just yesterday, the engine has begun idling too high when warm. No issues when cold, revs return to idling ok, but out on the road after 15 minutes or so, the revs wont fall. The accelerator cable doesnt seem to be sticking, its moving freely and ive lubed everything i can think of!
It came out of the garage yesterday after its MOT like this, but i guess they never ran it hot enough for the revs to not stick like they are. The garage have fitted 2 new heat exchangers and manifold pipes, and refurbished the heating. I dont know whether this would have an effect on it, but thought it worth mentioning!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.
