has anybody fitted a set of iridium plugs and do they make a difference. feed back welcome.

I used them in a couple of cars, but not a t25, don't think it would need such a fancy plug.

As long as the thread/reach & heat range are the same there shouldn't be any reason why you can't use them. Iridium is an incredibly hard metal with a very high melting point, this has enabled manufactures to design a spark plug with a very 'fine' tip which results in concentrating the spark with the benefits of improved ignition/combustion, include better fuel economy, increased power/acceleration and especially better throttle response. They also last longer so will not need changing as often.

Don't get too carried away though, despite the advertising blurb you are unlikely to notice any significant improvements although...as Tesco puts it 'Every Little Helps'.

The bog standard NGK plugs are more than good enough in my opinion. Tried the racing type years ago and found no difference.

Another consideration for me is most of the more modern plugs have built in supression (resistors) which I don't like as the setup already has resistors in the rotor arm, HT lead ends (lead to cap) and the spark plug caps themselves.
The other option are the triple & quad electrode , eg: W7DTC's but the problem with these is the 'GAP' is none adjustable and they come pre-set around 0.9mm when it should be 0.7mm on ours.

I've had a set fitted to mine and a K&N air filter, last time it went in for a service (last month). My only impression is that the engine seems smoother and seems to idle better, I'm in no way an expert in the joys of engine mechanics. I've got an 89 2.1, and it does seem better.
