We have just got a cadac safari chef (looks good)

So I have the spigot thingy to fit the take off point on our Westy. Do I need to put a regulator on the end of the hose? Or can it plug straight in??

Can't wait to start cooking outdoors

Straight in....the westy tank is regulated.

My cadac runs like that.

Is there a maximum length of hose permitted by the pressure delivered??

Some shops wont want to sell you more than a couple of meters.....i have one about 4 meters long to go from one side of the van to the other......works fine.

Best off buying exactly how much you want off eBay. They don't have any issues....

Just ordered 5 meters of hose.
I'm a bit unclear on how to size the jubilee clips as I don't know the outside diameter of the hose.
Any ideas of the clip size ???

I don't use any clips on mine....the bbq adaptor is a very secure push fit on the hose. The cadac input has a staged adaptor that again just pushes in. On the few occasions ive tried to pull the things apart....ive really struggled so its not going anywhere....and no leaks,

I found the burner control valve is a bit hit and miss on the Cadac. When you are cooking with the grill plates in place you can't see the burner and you have no idea how high or low the heat is until it is too late. I tried marking the control on mine but it is still a bit iffy. What it needs is a control like the hob in the vans where it only goes half a turn to max and then has a further stop for simmer.

I have the travel chef .....i think. Its a bit bigger than the safari...

We have an Eazi Chef Deluxe, it's into it's forth season now and it's been brilliant although showing it's age because of the amount of use.
We run ours using the BBQ take off with a 5 metre hose without alterations to jetting or pressure regulator, although I'm sure it was supplied with an alternative 'main jet' but was never fitted.

In theory the 'higher pressure' (50mbar) going through a jet designed for the UK use (37mbar) , should produce a bigger flame. When we first purchased this BBQ we did run it several times (before we got the take off adapter) on a 'stand alone' bottle with UK regulator and noticed No difference (in terms of flame size or colour) when we swapped to the Westy take BBQ take off.
