The saga continues. My eber b2l is in auto electricians and he got it working for a day before it packed up producing any heat. Told its the ignition unit ,its a blue t shaped unit next to the fan will try and post a picture later. In the mean time any ideas where i could source one from or should i just give up and admit defeat .
Cheers
Gary

Try the main dealers - someone may have some new old stock. Failing that try whistling in the wind? Bit too old now to get spares.

What is the part No.? If one of as follows, it was available in 2012.

25 1481 65 08 00
Generator - Ignition Spark
£241.95

25 1683 01 04 00
Generator Ignition Spark
£220.75

That's the thing - it would be better and cheaper in the long run to replace with something more modern.
Put it on Ebay making sure that it is for spares only and what has failed on it - someone may be glad of it for parts.

Slightly highjacking your thread (sorry)
If nothing else I would be grateful of nabbing the control knob of the wall mounted thermostat control panel, mines missing and I am wanting to see if my system works in my '86 1.6TD

Best Regards

Matthew

So near yet so far.

Thats a shame Gary after sorting all the other bits. Post up a picture of the part if you can. I won't have one in my diesel but is it something that could be repaired by swapping electrical components or resoldering I wonder.

There's a few bits to these heaters. Your part there is the thermostat/controller. Some look like yours but my older version is more a box that sticks out an inch or so with a different dial. If you lift the seat up there should be a small tin can type directly under the thermostat. This is the ECU. And then under the van below the sliding door there will be the heater itself with the fuel pump nearby and an inlet and exhaust pipe attached. So lots of bits to check. Hopefully yours will have all the bits present and working but if not put up a post in case someone can help out. The missing knob on your stat should not stop it from working at least to test it - will just make it a bit harder to adjust the temp.

I believe the spark generator bit Gary needs is something that lives inside the heater casing itself but I've not seen one as they are just needed for the petrol ones.

Hey pete good to hear from ya thanks for all your help as well nearly got there. I cant seem to be able to post a picture on the site im a bit of a luddite when it comes to this type of thing, your right it is a part thats inside the casing and only petrol ebers have them i think.
Matt my thermo dial is an earlier one i think its definitely different to yours sorry mate :(
