why oh why it just keeps over heating

Anyone come across this one.had 3 new thermostats pipes all checked any that needed replacing have been cant find any thing else wrong. Runs good apart from over heating sounds good so does'nt look like head gasket. But stimm the water boils it steams and then the gets chucked out but why, even the garage is flumexed.any ideas please.

have you had it sniffer tested? make sure exhaust gases are not in the coolant?

Think Mocki had something like this....a tiny hole in one of the heads....not sure if symptons the same - but it took him ages to find it.

Here's hoping the dalek cap is fualty!

No mention of the radiator. Is it getting hot all over? Is the fan kicking in?

I confess i forgot to test the rad itselfe ill try it. Now you can call me thick if you like but what's dr who got to do with it and what on earth is a daleck cap.oh hang on i think ive just got it. You meen.the filler lid on the expantion tank. Yep now if thats right yes i see why you call it that now.

Iv'e had problems with over heating and worried head gaskets I'm on Dalek cap Number 3 I think i'm gowing have to get a proper one.

You could buy 20 GSF ones before you get one that works.

Does your temperature gauge go above 2/3rds ? does the radiator fan kick in at 1/2 to 2/3rds? is the coolant level going down?

I had a similar issue on a mates van with gsf thermostats, we changes it for a brickwerks one and it solved all the problems.

you must have felt heat at the rad when bleeding it? or have you not read the guide?
