JX TD Question

I now have a new digital oil pressure gauge and oil temp gauge, where do I fit the T pieces for these?

I have searched the Wiki and the tech files but can't find a definitive answer.
Can someone help please.

Pressure gauge is 1/8 NPT and the temp sender is also 1/8 NPT. I already have M10 x 1 to 1/8 NPT T's but don't know where to fit them.

TIA

Jon

I fitted the pressure sender to the front of the head[low pressure oil switch possition] and for the tempreature i have one sender instead of the sump plug and sender on the oil filter stand, using the adaptor so i can still have the high pressure switch.

You will be welcome, just to point out...1/8 npt is more or less the same as m10x 1mm [the 1/8npt has a taperd thread].
Good luck,Barry [aka dave friday]

Aye, I knew about the thread difference, we have a lot of NPT stuff on the rig but out here it's more critical with compatibility, we are not allowed to mix and match, i.e. we can never put NPT with metric!

I think I have the right items on order, I'll send a link so you can see.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271103325817? ... 97.c0.m619 is the part, well 2 of them.....right one's???

Question on an entirely different subject, have you had your van gas tested near you? I still have to get mine done so I get the cert to buy a gas bottle but can't find anyone that is willing or understands what I need!!!

Cheers

Yeah thats what ive got for the tempreature sender [on the oil filter stand] .
I dont know where you'd get certification or where you could get your gas tank filled .
get some copper washers for your senders!!

I'll get right on to the chap selling them to include the washers Barry thanks for that.

As for the gas check thing, where I am I can't buy a small bottle without this certificate. I have found out that the guys that come and do the house supply will do the van but it will cost 50euro..... I really don't think an inspection of the pipework and regulator is worth that.
When I took her for ITV they didn't even ask to look at the interior fit so I really don't know what the fuss is about.

I know I am capable of making sure the gas install is safe, (I work with nitrogen high pressure systems out here). The install in the van is regulator, rubber hose to hard piped valves, fridge/heater (heater and pipework removed) and the two burner rings, very simple and easily pressure tested ( I have the kitto do that), all I need is a bottle but no one seems interested in selling their secondhand items????

I'll keep looking (unless you have one)
Once you have a bottle it's just a simple exchange at a fuel station, same as for the large 14kg bottles.

Well if the standard size is 13/14 kg then one about half that depends on the height of those though, Got to fit into a standard westy unit.

Why, you got some stashed there?

Unfortunately I am not in the UK (or is that fortunately???!!) I'm at work in Malaysia for the rest of this month, getting home on the 30th. I live in enix full time, so to speak.

I have plenty of the larger 13kg bottles for the house, gas hob and patio heater etc. It's difficult to have these bottles sent from the UK, dangerous goods and all that, even if they are empty!

No I was hoping that I could get the van gas checked and have the cert that would allow me to buy the initial bottle of the correct size, after that re-fills are easy.....

I'll have to keep looking at the segundo mano sites to see if I can get hold of one that way.

Cheers

Hmmm?? Thats gonna be a problem, I haven't measured up for that apart from the fact it is supposed to fit into a standard westy fridge/sink/cooker unit and there's no way for me to get it measured until I return home at the very and of this month...

Cheers for the offer an all that but I'm not sure about which fitting I have either A bit more research and digging I think.

Maybe have to end up using a couple of old 'blueys' and a multi fuel stove!

If you do pop off to the UK when are you due back in Spain?
