As above really. Trying to remove the drum and in my enthusiasm I have rounded off the bolt completely. Someone has offered me an angle grinder to cut it but surely that still leaves the bolt in situ? Don't want to do anything in haste that is going to mess things up completely...

Angle grinder is a good solution.
I've been without these screws for years.

The wheel studs and wheel hold the drum on.

But surely it leaves the main part of the bolt in place holding it in place? Or can it be wrestled off once the head has been cut off?

it's only the head of the bolt that holds it the threaded part is the same diameter as the hole so it will slide off

Just chisel it off... I've been without for 6/7 years now, and after all if your drum comes off you've got some serious problems ahead!!!

Once the head's off, and the drum removed, you may well be able to just remove the thread easily, since there'll be no tension on it. 'course, it's probably rounded because it's seized, so you won't...

Thanks all, will give it a bash on Monday and keep you posted... Fingers crossed I'll just cut the head off and the brake drum will come straight off and there won't be any other issues...

If you've not had the drum off for a while( and who would have) it will probably need a bit of hammer help to get it moving!!! And watch out for all the nasty dust!

Cut a slot with that grinder...and undo it with a screwdriver.
