Attaching curtain snaps to (van) body?

hi everyone,
i'm thinking of making up some blinds out of old coffee sacks to suit the rat-look (tatty) theme of my van.
i don't want to have full on curtain rails, but i heard of people using the metal snaps/poppers/press studs. I was just wandering how you fix them to the body of the van - as a bit of a newbie i have no idea what lies beneath the headliner!
if anyone has made blinds in this way or has any ideas that would be really helpful
cheers

or rivet. Think you can get the right ones to do it as well. Something like this but you need to find the other half

Just an Idea, what about magnets? search on ebay 'rare earth magnets'. Avoid drilling holes. The ones the size of a £1 coin are a good size. . .

As I didn't want visible fixings on my standard 'bus, I went the magnet route. Let's be technical - they are Neodymium magnets. I have used 10mm x 5mm magnets, with a safety pin araldited to the back. This means that they can be removed when the curtains need a wash (if you don't remove them they will stick to the washing machine drum!).
I actually soldered a small washer to the safety pin first to give a better "stick" to the magnet.
Incidently, I did the whole bus with 50 magnets.

finally got round to finishing these off. as i wanted just simple blinds that were flexible (could be left on during travel or taken off and stowed) i went down the snaps route.
as said

neat sets of snaps i got from 'world of sewing' are something like yacht and caravan ones, come with screws and all tools.
so just drilled a hole and screwed one end to the body (sometimes tricky with headliner stretched across roof so hole isn't clear)
the other half of the snap is made of two parts that you punch together with the tool provided in the kit, fixing it on the curtain.
i made my curtains out of old coffee sacks, backed with rough linen and with some of that foil backed bubblewrap insulation so it would reflect the sun a bit more.

bit tatty, but i'm happy. thanks for the help
