has anyone had experience of fitting the stainless exhaust from VW speed shop?

I'm trying to work out if you have to remove the pushrod cover tinware, as its missing in all their photos. I emailed them and he admitted that on the two engines he's personally fitted it to, there was no tinware, so he doesnt really know.

How will your delicate push rod tubes be protected if you don't cover them?

one puncture from a high speed stone and it's goodbye oil.

you got any pics - could you not make some brackets up to re fit the tinware afterwards?

Mine fitted up without touching the pushrod covers




I did have to bend a bit of steel just above the end of the tail pipe however, but I think that was because my one was not assembled correctly. I got it cheap off a 3rd party, not off VW Speed shop, I bet that was why they sold it. No big deal though, it was only a few millimetres I had to bend to stop the tail pipe vibrating against the rear valance. I am very happy with the system.

I fitted new speedshop exhaust last year and had no problem fitting pushrod covers afterwards
