The Haynes Maual for 1982-90 VW Transporter quotes a Kerb weight of 1395-1570 KG depending on model and equipment.
A Gross vehicle weight of 2390 to 2600 Kg. Taking the two minimum weights 2395 minus 1395 is virtually 1000Kg or roughly 2200 lbs which seems a lot . Was wondering where the extra weight comes from when comparing Kerb and Gross Weights ?

GVW is the maximum laden weight, so the difference is all the stuff somebody put in the back of the van...
