Plasti Dip?

Wotcha, I have a need to cover thread on parts of a M10 mild steel threaded rod so the thread does not rub what its strapped to and to prevent corrosion. Found something called Plasti Dip which looks ideal. I like the idea of using the dip cans, not the spray cans. I note they recommend use of primer first.

Anyone used this or similar for such an application. Any advice?

This stuff is great. It can be easily peeled off whenever you wasnt but is really durable. be great to paint a van with if you like a matt finish.

Why not use stainless rod to start with? Then bind the contacting section.

The rod is getting some small radius 90degree bends. I thought mild steel would be easier to bend than stainless. The dip should give a nicer finish than binding.

I have never applied it but have seen it and looks great. Have a look on you tube and there are loads of vids about it.
