hello,
just a couple of questions.
is there only one stiles of sliding side door for a t25.
if so have just purchased a fibreglass side door card in which a table sits in. come to see how easy it will be to fit an the side strenghener panel is right in the way of the table recess. which makes me think there are a couple of types of sliding doors or do you have to take the strenghener out of the dooor.
any help appreciated i have a vw t25 1980 devon moonraker

That sound like a mod too far. The phrases 'cut out' and ' strengthening bar' should probably not be used a sentence unless the words ' then add' come before the latter.

Yes your probably right about the 'cut out' thing, although
if the GRP is a good thickness it can be a sort of stress member. IIRC 8mm is good, any less than that and it will flex too much and not provide any strength.
This all based on the thickness of GRP Fast rescue craft by the way, nowt to do with cars, just saying though
I might be totally out of order with that so if I am please ignore what I said. there are experts on here that will know.

thanks for the info.the fibreglass insert is very flimsy maybe 2mm thick. seen a couple about before and thought very good idea to store the table in the door.totally confused but at the end of the day you are rightly saying that taking the strenghener out of the door is taking the safety out of the door. any ideas how to get the best of both ideas so to install and keep the strengh.
cheers sam

Pictures of the said item would help, both by itself and near the sliding door but not obscuring it so we can see the door internal bracing.
So lots of pictures from all angles.
