Opening quarterlight quandry

I decided to swap all my window seals today and remove the chrome trim. All went great until I discovered that there wasnt much left of the bar that lives inside the quarterlight seal. Only a rusty stain and some crumbly crud remain of the bottom of the bar. The top mount is still there but the bottom mount is floating. Anyone seen this before and how did you get around it?

you either need a better condition quater light frame and swap all your bits over, or i may have a damaged frame you could take parts from let me know if intrested , if not if you get the frames of a lle they are galvanized and are usually in excellent condition

251 837 405 left
251 837 405 right

Vw heritage sell genuine frames for an eye watering £172 or aluminium repros for £52

However. If you search the above numbers using their classic parts link you can get genuine frames from classic in germany for just £100 a side. Heritage order them for you and send them to you without their scandalous £70 markup

This is an if all else fails option
