hi im going to be giving my chasis a bit of going over with with a wire brush to get rid of some surface rust that is showing.was wondering best thing to put on once cleaned up to protect it.is it best to to just use underseal .i heard somewhere if you dont get rid of every bit of rust and underseal over some rust it could cause more damage as the rust will eat away below the underseal.

i had a ford anglia which i stripped all old underseal from it,i then painted it in red oxide the a few coats of chassis black then a coat of underseal lasted for a long time and looked neat,was a lot of hard work tho.
