Jake and I went to the VW show at Sandown park today and a very nice silver Syncro had parked next to us in the mud when we got back to our vans. Good to see us synrco owners sticking together in the sea of air cooled enthusiasts
Who was it then? petrol van running on LPG, had an 80-90 Syncronauts sticker in the side window and I would like to talk with you about who did your paint job.

Did it have a big mustache on the front of it by any chance?

it was me going to weybridge or back depending on when i was seen, to look at a job, using the van as much as possible to gain the trust in it. but so far so good since i repaired it. apart from a flat battery thats all that has gone wrong.

That was me... the van also got onto video on Campervan culture site as well then..... 3 mins of fame!
I bought the van as a Caravelle 6 months ago. Since then I stripped and sold off the interior, had the top put on by Space down in Devon, then the interior put in by Stirling in Newbury. I've also amassed all the RJES bits and a low milage non turbo EJ20 motor that will go in as soon as I can pick up spanners without getting frost bite.
Great base vehicle with no rust so worth (?) spending money on. At least thats what I keep telling myself.
Paint was done by Jim's brother in law who runs a spray shop in Reading I think. Was done before I bought it, but quality work speaks for itself. I can get details from Jim if you need them.
Hope to get out and about in the spring.
