Apologies if this has been covered before (I'm sure it has) - I've tried to search for similar but found nothing.

1.9DF/DG (was a DG, now a DF, but still has a DG carb - pierburg 2e3)

Vans not been driven for a few (3) weeks.

Drove today - was fine at first (maybe while cold) but then started to hesitate to pick up revs from idle.
So pulling away from lights, press the accelerator, revs seem to bog down (i.e. don't increase).
I give the pedal a good mash down and they then pick up.

Sometimes it would do this, other times it would be OK. (So its not a permanent 'feature' yet!)
And generally it just seemed sluggish to accelerate (more so than normal I think but hard to quantify)

So ....... is it ...

1) Water in fuel/Old fuel
2) Fuel filters blocked
3) Vacuum advance not working
4) Vacuum leak somewhere
5) Accelerator pump diaphragm
6) Something else .....

... Was hoping you chaps could give me some direction before I start poking around?
Or maybe jut eliminate one or two of the above given the scenario?
Or pop round and help me fix it ????

I. check the main fuel filter
2. check the cone filter in the carb

after that....any or all of your list above!

Hi i had the same problem it turned out to be the brake vacume tube from the inlet manifold leaking it looked ok from the outside but all cracked inside,Best of luck Rob.

Thanks Rob - as soon as it stops snowing I'll take a look - have replaced the brake vac hose about 6 months ago so I don't think it is that (but maybe the replacement is fubar!)
But if you have seen that a vac leak gave similar symptoms then I can check the rest of the vac tubes ....

Classic air leak symptom
And possibly a transfer jet issue.
The transfer jet is actuated by the acc pump.
To check operation, remove the ducting and with the choke flap open
Press the acc pedal
You should see a squirt of fuel spray into the venturi

Make sure any dizzy-related hoses are secure and a good fit. A dislodged accelerator pump jet (you should see it squirt fuel down carb throat if you remove air filter and manually operate carb) will cause terrible acceleration too.
