Bonded-style sliding window?

I'm currently replacing/upgrading the windows in my 1987 Syncro and quite like the look of those dinky little sliding panels in the modern bonded windows you see on T5s. They look so much neater than the sliders in frame channels that are common on T25s. My question is, is there any reason why a window with a bonded-style slider couldn't be fitted in my van in rubber seals?

I suspect that the bonded window will be much bigger and would need to be cut down to a suitable size but I don't know what technical challenges this would presnt to a competent glass man.

Any advice or comments?

Side windows are usually tempered glass, so it cannot be cut to size. If you find a correct sized one that fit without cutting, it could be installed like a panelvan conversion.
