hi, how much gear oil do i put in my 1.7d 5speed box and what type of oil do i use?

in a petrol 5 speed it.s ~4.5 litres of Comma SX 75w/90 GL4 or up to the fill hole. Undo fill plug BEFORE undoing the drain plug. I can't see an oil burner being vastly different.

As Ian says.....Drain until it slow drips (make sure the filler plug moves before draining) refit the drain bung and fill until the oil just starts to overflow the fill hole.
Just make sure the van is level..
