Does anyone use one of these? I've been toying with the idea of buying one for cooking/dining under, but they're a bit dearer than the old garden gazebo type thing we used to have. Amazon reviews range from the brilliant to the not-wort-it. Just wondered how good they were for that sort of thing, stability, use in weather conditions, etc.
For those who haven't seen them, they're a large dome-shape shelter - you can also fit one or more side walls to them.

if you go onto campsites alot of them ban gazebo's, I guess that is because they are free standing and a hazard when its windy, but then so is an awning when you drive away and so are tents. I think I'm confusing myself now so will shut up, hopefully someone else may have something more constructive to say.

We've got one as the brickies arms, however we're yet to use it, however I'm sure the 80/90 spragmans is a Coleman event shelter and it seems substantial!

The modern 'Show Spragmans' are event shelters ... although the only time we actually needed shelter it had to be taken down as it was too windy ... More like Event Hang gliders if you ask me.

Currently £50 off most retailers for the 4.5M one bringing it to £150 or £135ish on eBay... Anyone seen them cheaper elsewhere?

BTW a friend of ours had one at Dubs at the Castle last year and it was brilliant.

We got a Khyam Screenhouse second hand (about £70 ish) a good few years ago . It is 3m x 3m so is a brilliant size for a kitchen tent or for smaller groups. It is very easy to put up (a single person can do it quite easily) and it is fairly good in the wind as it sways about rather than snapping, like our Royal Traveller awning did

We invested in one of these last summer as we were fed up of getting wet.We used it at whitenoise for the first time. Me and my mate parked either side of it with sliding doors facing into it. it was the best £120 we spent all last summer.

Da.cooper - are you referring to a Coleman shelter, or the Khama pictured in the previous post?

Sorry, the coleman they were on offer me and mate were going to go halfs on one. They were such a good deal we bought one each. Very easy to put up 2 of you 5-10 mins at the most. Waterproof. There are 9 -12 of us that go away together and we can all get under the one in chairs plus we have a table and cooking facilities.

I can heartily recommend the Coleman event shelters.
We bought one for use at my granddaughters 1st birthday as an extra shelter for a late summer BBQ, (she will be 4 this September) and it has been used at other events as well.
As stated, easy to put up, waterproof, wind resistant (I am not going to say wind proof as there will always be a stronger wind than the storm lashings can cope with) but, yes it does sway in strong winds rather than bend and break like a gazebo.

Not sure on todays prices but I got mine at 50% off from Argos back than.

We have one and it is great as already said you can sit plenty of people with chairs and we have also had a large bbq in it.

Syncronauts have a 3x3 m sq. and hexagonal Khyam shelter tents and have just bought a 4.5m x 4.5m Coleman gazebo for show displays and summer sheltering.
The Khyams have proven excellent for many years as shelters in inclement conditions, food halls, kitchens, eqpt. stores etc. The Coleman yet to be used, was bought as a result of displaying at the Overland Exhibition last year, where so many were in use....
