Identifying unconnected wire

I have the dash off to fix the heater fan, I'm also planning to tidy up some of the additional wiring that has been added. I've found an unconnected three port wire going up the right hand windscreen pillar and am trying to identify it. I'm thinking its possible its linked to the eberspacher maybe?
So - long shot - anyone know what this is?
The van is a 1981 1.6d westfalia which I'm stripping down and rebuilding slowly - these photos show the wire , all help appreciated

Had a look at the photos i took of my 85 westy when i took the dash out cannot see i have that wire? Is it not something maybe to do with the speakers in the rear in the panel above the rock and roll bed?? Do not think it would be the eber. I removed my ever off the van completely last week to take it apart and fix it. for me if it is the eber it will go to a wire just by the black buzzing box under the rock and roll bed, eg feed wire to the eber but was only two wires and i would of thought no expert but would come from the other side of the van as the fuse, well mine is a LHD so is behind my drivers seat on the pillar. Does the eber work and function as if it does would rule the eber out if it is not connected!
No expert could it be something like a wires for rear washers or rear heated screen or something?
Not much help but just some ideas?

Got dash off my 83 Westy too to replace heater fan and brake servo at the mo. Will check what wires go up that pillar to compare as soon as I get back to it and let you know.

Much appreciated. I'm thinking its factory because of the way it's been put in. It could be the speakers as I have a switch on the dash with speaker symbols that isn't connected to anything any more. Has three terminals one side and three the other - looks maybe like a balance type switch? I'm doing the headliner at some point in the future so I guess it will become clear..

Also eber doesn't work but that could be said about pretty much everything!

Can confirm now it is not on my 83 westy. Just have the single cable in a black tube to feed the door switch. My ever fed from left side of van. My speaker cabling does not seem professionally done. The cables just disappear under carpet below glove box!

So - my van is pretty old and has a lot of first gen t25 bits like the old radiator, old fuse box etc. it also doesn't have the fuse box on the left pillar for the eber that people talk about (I think)
Don't suppose anyone could take a photo of that fuse box so I can be sure what I'm looking for?
