Hi all,

I am in the middle of sorting my breaks and suspension (one wheel at a time) and whilst also completing other tasks. Here is a picture of its current state: (rear offside)

Now, I have my brickwerks boot ready to place the order:

Could anybody please let me know if I need owt else?
I am using the same springs and dampers.
Pushrod adjuster seems ok.

Also, where exactly do the break shoe retainers go? I can't seem find them in the Haynes.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Jon.

If you're athta stage i would make sure rear bearings are ok as if you have the brake back plates of anyway then it would make sense potentially to do them now, not that hard, seeJed th Spreads really helpful video on this.

About half way down each shoe, they come through from the back plate, through the shoe, then spring and cap (press, quarter turn) on to hold the shoes to the backplate. We've been running minus one for a few months now, no ill effects.

If you're doing all that work, I'd be replacing the shoes & hydraulics as a matter of course - so add two wheel cylinders, shoe kit, flexis.

Thank you
The brake kit consists of shoes, fitting kit and cylinder. Wonder if that includes the shoe retainer. I will double check before ordering.

Just remembered I also need a plug to fill the gap for adjusting the breaks.

Jon.

I will be needing new break cables throughout but only getting that later. I forgot to mention the aim is to get the wheel/arm etc back on so I can move the van to the other side of the garage and start the off side. Jon. Cheers.
