Hi I posted last week for help but no good, my 2.0l air cooled stoped turning over and just started to tic cick nose, ive since cleaned all earths all positives and charged the battrey still tic cick nose so i tryed cross arcking the 13mm live to the spade connecter on the starter and it turned over so whats this telling me the starter is nackerd be thankful for the help cheers bri

Hello,

Means your starter solenoid is sticking.....

Sometimes unsticks with a hammer tap ....

Remove starter, give it a jolly good clean, compressed air and wire brush, MIND YOUR EYES WEAR GOGGLES

It will be worthwhile at the same time to look at underside stuff, heat exchanger control wires, clutch adjusting screw and thread, all clean....

Well it's telling you that there is a sufficiently sound connection (both positive feed and earth) that the starter can crank the engine (by turned you do mean cranked over the engine? yes?)

In that case it's telling you that there isn't a sufficiently good 'switch feed' to the spade connection......normally that would indicate a 'rotten' bit of cable at the end of this wire (when you cut the cable back the copper has turned black) or the connection isn't crimped well.

Sometimes a faulty ignition switch can give similar symptoms.
