Can someone tell me what im doing wrong? i have my 1998 caddy 1y engine, its in the van, all connected up, top fuel solenoid on and all wires from the loom connected, but she wont go, im not getting any fuel through to any of the injectors, ive primed the filter to the brim, tipped some fuel in the top banjo hole, and still nothing, there are six wires from the pump, all of which i dont know what the hell they do, two to a black box on the back of the pump???, two under that, then two more cables under that, i cant remember the colours, and the van is ten miles away so its not like i could take a look, does anyone know what i need to do to get it going, before i light it up and save up for a bongo (yeh, as if)
any help would be a god send,
thanks

Top banjo is the outlet/return on my 1Y - have you reversed the fuel connections?

The black box has a fuel cut off valve. It can be broken up to get to the solonoid fuel valve then wire it to the 12 volt ignition supply.

A massive thankyou to you both!! oldie for being the main contributor to my 'help me' threads and to camper for the on the nose info, i cracked the black casing off with a chisel, took the bracket off and linked the one wire from the solenoid side of the chipboard to the ignition live, and away she went, first crack, im now well happy and on the road again, she pulls strong, it don't stink and i can dare go up the hills i have long avoided, without blinding people with blue smoke
again many thanks, and if our paths cross, i owe you both a beer
